Revolution Medicines seeks a Senior Director of Epidemiology in Basel to lead strategic evidence generation and scientific leadership for its oncology portfolio across Europe.

This position acts as the primary epidemiology subject matter expert and regional leader for Europe, guiding the scientific strategy and evidence generation for the company's assets throughout their lifecycle. The role ensures that epidemiological insights support clinical development, regulatory approvals, and market access objectives while maintaining alignment with global portfolio priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Clinical Development, Global Patient Safety, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, RWE/HEOR, Market Access, and Commercial teams.
  • Align epidemiology strategies with clinical, regulatory, safety, and evidence generation goals.
  • Maintain consistency with global epidemiology strategies, portfolio priorities, and development objectives.
  • Identify emerging evidence needs and shape the portfolio evidence generation strategy.
  • Provide epidemiologic evidence for regulatory submissions, orphan drug designations, HTA, JCA, reimbursement, and market access.
  • Partner with Global Patient Safety on safety signal evaluation, benefit-risk assessments, and post-approval safety study design and execution.
  • Contribute to the development of epidemiology best practices, standards, and operating procedures within the function.

Requirements

  • PhD, DSc, or DrPH in epidemiology or a related advanced science field.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in epidemiology or pharmacoepidemiology within pharmaceutical, biotech, regulatory, academic, or healthcare research settings.
  • Strong technical knowledge of pharmacoepidemiologic methods, real-world oncology data sets, and biostatistical techniques.
  • Proven track record supporting evidence generation in clinical development, regulatory, safety, or market access contexts.
  • Experience developing and implementing epidemiology strategies for multiple clinical development programs.
  • Ability to influence senior cross-functional stakeholders and drive scientific decision-making in global matrix organizations.
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives and external scientific collaborations.
  • Skills in mentoring scientists and contributing to organizational capability development.
  • Excellent analytic, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective work in matrix teams.
  • Demonstrated scientific communication skills, including peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
  • Experience working effectively within global, cross-functional, matrixed organizations.

Nice to have

  • Experience in oncology epidemiology or pharmacoepidemiology within pharma or biotech.
  • Support for regulatory submissions, orphan drug designations, HTA, JCA, reimbursement, or market access.
  • Experience driving post-approval safety studies using real-world data submitted to global regulators.
  • Interaction with regulatory agencies, HTA organizations, or reimbursement bodies.
  • Leadership of global epidemiology evidence generation strategies across multiple assets or indications.
  • Management of external epidemiology vendors, academic collaborations, and research partnerships.
  • Familiarity with oncology EHR, claims, registry, and/or clinico-genomic data sources.
  • Experience in global development programs and cross-functional matrix organizations.
