Swiss TPH seeks a senior expert to lead procurement and supply management initiatives for health products across lusophone Africa, focusing on system assessment and team leadership.
The Swiss Centre for International Health (SCIH) at the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) is looking for a specialist to drive consultancy and project management efforts in international health. This role involves overseeing procurement and supply management strategies to improve health product availability and system efficiency in target regions.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate existing systems for managing health and non-health products, including procurement, storage, distribution, and information flows, for various donor requirements.
- Analyze and review the quantification and technical specifications for pharmaceuticals, health supplies, and equipment intended for procurement.
- Lead short-term mandates related to procurement and supply management expertise, potentially supervising a small team of specialists.
Requirements
- A Master’s degree in Pharmacy or a related formal qualification.
- At least ten years of professional experience in advising on or managing the procurement, supply, and utilization of health products, with a focus on developing nations.
- A minimum of eight years in management roles, ideally within the healthcare sector.
- Fluency in both Portuguese and English, with excellent speaking and writing skills in both languages.
Nice to have
- Postgraduate education in public health, logistics, or procurement and supply management (PSM), or an MBA.
- Proven experience in writing project proposals.
- Proficiency in Spanish or French.
