Siemens seeks a Product Owner to lead the Building X Rules Application within its Digital Buildings portfolio, driving product strategy and agile development.
This position sits within Siemens' Digital Buildings portfolio, with a specific focus on shaping the Building X Rules Application. The role plays a key part in the company’s digital transformation by developing innovative applications that support modern building management.
Responsibilities
- Establish and share the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Building X Rules Application.
- Manage, refine, and prioritize the product backlog to ensure alignment with business goals.
- Convert market insights, customer needs, and expert feedback into clear product features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Work closely with Product Management, Architects, Development Teams, Domain Experts, and regional stakeholders.
- Lead release planning and feature prioritization to maximize customer value and business impact.
- Review and accept delivered functionality, ensuring product increments meet defined requirements and quality expectations.
- Ensure the Rules Application remains intuitive, scalable, reliable, and effectively adopted by domain experts and facility managers.
- Monitor product performance, customer feedback, and usage analytics to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support alignment with the broader Building X, Fault Detection & Diagnostics (FDD), and Digital Buildings software portfolio strategy.
- Leverage AI-powered tools and technologies to enhance productivity, decision-making, and product management effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Building Automation, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Analyst, or similar role within software product development environments.
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, Scrum practices, and backlog management processes.
- Experience defining product roadmaps, writing user stories, and managing product requirements throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and align diverse cross-functional teams.
- Customer-centric mindset with the ability to translate complex business and technical requirements into practical product solutions.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Experience working with product management and collaboration tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.
- Understanding cloud-based software applications, SaaS delivery models, and modern software architectures.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Self-motivated professional who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced global environment.
Nice to have
- Experience in Building Management Systems (BMS), Building Automation, Smart Buildings, Energy Management, or IoT-based solutions.
- Familiarity with Building X, Digital Buildings, or Fault Detection & Diagnostics (FDD) solutions.
- Understanding of facility operations, building performance optimization, and sustainability initiatives.
- Knowledge of UX/UI design principles and customer adoption strategies.
- Experience working in global product organizations and geographically distributed teams.
- Certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO), or equivalent Agile certifications.
