Senior Analyst – People & Workforce Analytics

Abbott seeks a Senior Analyst for its People & Workforce Analytics team in Basel. The role focuses on transforming workforce data into strategic insights to support global talent and organizational decisions.

Based at the global Headquarters of the medicines business in Basel, this position is a key member of the enterprise People Analytics team. The primary purpose is to convert complex workforce data into clear, actionable insights that enable senior leaders to make informed decisions regarding talent management and organizational structure across multiple regions.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex workforce metrics into clear, data-driven recommendations for leadership.
• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines, dashboards, and reporting frameworks.
• Utilize statistical and predictive analytics to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities within the workforce.
• Collaborate with senior HR executives to address workforce challenges through evidence-based strategies.
• Implement automation and AI-enabled tools to accelerate insight generation and operational efficiency.
• Integrate external labor market benchmarks to provide context for internal analytics findings.
• Align analytical outputs with strategic priorities, including workforce planning, scenario modeling, and HR investment decisions.

Requirements

• At least five years of professional experience in People Analytics, Workforce Analytics, Data Analytics, or a related HR domain.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Psychology, or a closely related discipline.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL for managing and querying large datasets within cloud environments.
• Strong coding skills in Python and/or R for statistical modeling and analytics.
• Hands-on experience with data visualization platforms such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Proven ability to apply statistical methods, including regression, predictive modeling, and classification techniques, in workforce contexts.
• Demonstrated capability to communicate effectively with and influence senior HR leadership.
• Fluent command of the English language.
