Abbott seeks a Senior Financial Analyst for its Procurement and Third-Party Manufacturing finance team in Basel. The role focuses on cost accounting, strategic analysis, and supporting global brand initiatives within the Established Pharmaceuticals Division.
This position sits within the Established Pharmaceuticals Division, providing financial support to Procurement and Third-Party Manufacturing operations. The analyst plays a key part in shaping the future of global brands by delivering strategic insights and ensuring financial transparency within the EPD Headquarters team.
Responsibilities
- Generate monthly flash reports, RLBEs, plans, and pricing updates, including What-If scenario analyses.
- Conduct cost accounting and variance analysis comparing actual results against forecasts and plans.
- Provide strategic financial analysis for Procurement and Third-Party Manufacturing, including standard cost settings.
- Assist with Procurement and Third-Party Manufacturing planning and LBE updates.
- Define standard cost pricing, analyze price variances, and offer insights to improve profitability.
- Present data-driven recommendations and insights to senior leadership.
- Oversee month-end and year-end closings, ensuring accurate variance analysis in P&L accounts.
- Develop spend analysis and forecasting strategies to identify and achieve cost-saving opportunities.
- Lead projects related to ERP enhancements, supply chain analytics, and global demand planning.
- Support SOX compliance by providing necessary reports and documentation during audits.
- Ensure transparency and efficiency in transactional processes to drive Procurement and Third-Party Manufacturing objectives.
- Operate independently under general management direction and represent the finance function in cross-divisional initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least four years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong understanding of Procurement and Finance with meticulous attention to detail.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, Power Query, complex formulas, and data analysis.
- Practical proficiency in MS PowerPoint and Word.
- Familiarity with SAP systems.
- Excellent command of the English language.

- Proficiency in languages other than English.
