Senior Consultant

Blockstream, a leading Bitcoin infrastructure company, seeks a Senior Consultant in Zurich, CH, for client-facing roles in financial services. The position requires 7–10 years of experience in enterprise software implementation, deep financial domain knowledge, and on-site client engagement with significant travel.

The Senior Consultant role at Blockstream supports enterprise and institutional clients by aligning business needs with technical solutions. Operating within the Service & Enterprise Solutions team, the consultant works directly at client sites to understand operations, design and implement end-to-end solutions, and ensure successful adoption. The role demands expertise in both business processes and technology to deliver comprehensive value across the entire project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Engage on-site at client locations to analyze business operations, workflows, and challenges
• Collect and document functional and technical requirements via stakeholder interviews, workshops, and process reviews
• Design comprehensive solutions that meet business goals using appropriate technology
• Lead implementation efforts, including system configuration, integration development, and validation
• Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure clear communication and alignment
• Offer expert advice on best practices, industry standards, and optimal solution designs
• Customize platforms to fit specific client workflows and business processes
• Oversee user acceptance testing, conduct training, and facilitate knowledge transfer for smooth adoption
• Diagnose and resolve issues that involve both business processes and technical execution
• Maintain detailed documentation of solution designs, configurations, and implementation choices
• Deliver full lifecycle support from initial requirements to go-live and ongoing maintenance

Requirements

• 7 to 10 years of experience in functional, solution, or implementation consulting roles
• In-depth knowledge of financial services processes such as custody, payments, treasury, banking operations, or capital markets
• Strong technical skills including system configuration, API understanding, database work, and technical troubleshooting
• Track record of implementing enterprise software in financial services settings
• Ability to capture and document detailed functional and technical requirements
• Willingness to work on-site at client locations with frequent travel (3+ days per week)
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities across business and technical domains
• Clear communication skills to interact effectively with both business users and technical teams
• Proactive, collaborative mindset with experience working across teams and geographies, maintaining high-quality client engagement throughout delivery phases
• Familiarity with regulated financial environments and compliance requirements
• Language skills: German and English required for Zurich; French and English for Geneva; Italian for Lugano, with flexibility based on client assignments
• Location: Switzerland (Zurich, Geneva, or Lugano, depending on client needs)

Nice to have

• Experience with blockchain, digital asset, or cryptocurrency platforms
• Familiarity with core banking systems such as Avaloq, Temenos, or Sopra
• Technical proficiency in Python, SQL, APIs, or system integration
• Background in consulting, system integration, or professional services
• Experience in custody operations, payment systems, or treasury management
• Relevant certifications in platforms or methodologies
