Mirum Pharmaceuticals seeks a Senior Director of International FP&A in Zug, CH, to lead financial planning and analysis for its international commercial operations, partnering with global leadership to support product launches and market expansion.
Reporting to the Executive Director of FP&A in the US, this position is based in Zug and acts as the main financial partner for international leadership. The role holds full accountability for financial performance, planning, and strategic decision support across Europe and other global markets. It plays a key part in scaling the international finance function to support the commercialization of LIVMARLI and future pipeline assets, combining strategic leadership with hands-on execution in a growth-stage biotech setting.
Responsibilities
- Lead the financial planning and analysis function for international commercial operations, taking full ownership of regional P&L performance.
- Act as the primary financial advisor to international leadership, guiding strategy, investment choices, and operational execution.
- Serve as the liaison between international markets and US headquarters to ensure alignment with global financial objectives.
- Develop and expand the international FP&A team, processes, and tools over time.
- Manage the annual planning cycle, long-range planning, and ongoing forecasting for international markets.
- Collaborate across functions to create data-driven forecasts, challenge assumptions, and identify risks and opportunities.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly business reviews, providing clear insights into performance drivers and actionable recommendations.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, translating results into meaningful business insights for leadership.
- Lead scenario planning and financial modeling to support key business decisions, including market expansion, product launches, and resource allocation.
- Evaluate investment opportunities through ROI analysis, supporting prioritization of high-impact initiatives.
- Partner with commercial and regional teams to optimize resource deployment and maximize return on investment.
- Support launch planning for new products and geographic expansion, including financial modeling and risk assessment.
Requirements
- 12–15+ years of progressive experience in FP&A or finance, with significant exposure to global or international operations.
- Prior experience in biotech, pharmaceuticals, or life sciences strongly preferred, particularly in commercial-stage environments.
- Demonstrated experience supporting international markets, including product launches and market expansion.
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic planning capabilities.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate as a strategic business partner.
- Experience working in complex, multi-country environments with an understanding of market access and pricing dynamics.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with evolving priorities.
