Senior Financial Analyst - FinOps (f/m/d)

Awin AG seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to build scalable data pipelines and automate financial reconciliations, bridging finance operations with technical execution in a hybrid role based in Switzerland.

This newly established position serves as the technical engine for the finance data squad, tasked with transforming operational data into automated reporting and reconciliation workflows. The successful candidate will shape the future of Finance Operations at Awin by building robust data processes that support accounting activities and ensure data accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Extract and preprocess accounting data from ERPs and finance tools to facilitate financial bookings and closing cycles.
• Construct and sustain scalable data pipelines that feed into accounting and financial reporting systems.
• Guarantee the precision, traceability, and auditability of all financial data inputs created.
• Develop automated reconciliation workflows between source systems, ERPs, and downstream reports to minimize manual effort.
• Diagnose and fix reconciliation discrepancies, escalating persistent issues to the Financial Data Team Leader.
• Collaborate with the Financial Data Team Leader to prioritize the delivery backlog and refine project requirements.
• Implement automation solutions that eliminate manual data manipulation from daily accounting tasks.
• Maintain the reliability and efficiency of month-end closing processes through stable data flows.
• Identify recurring data quality problems at the source and coordinate with Data Engineering for upstream fixes.
• Proactively detect data gaps, quality issues, and process inefficiencies, proposing actionable solutions.
• Create reports that support credit control, working capital monitoring, revenue reconciliation, and transaction-level controls.
• Give accountants clear visibility into financial process drivers and anomalies.

Requirements

• At least three years of professional experience in finance, accounting, or data analytics.
• Strong grasp of core accounting procedures, including the close cycle, revenue recognition, reconciliations, and working capital management.
• Capability to convert accounting needs into precise data specifications.
• A Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, analytics, or a related discipline.
• Fluent proficiency in English.
• Advanced SQL skills, including window functions, CTEs, and handling large transactional datasets.
• Practical experience working with ERP systems and financial data structures.

Nice to have

• Current study or certification in AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent accounting qualifications.
• Knowledge of an additional European language is beneficial due to the multi-location scope.
• Experience with Python programming is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Finance Data Warehouse concepts is a plus.
