(Senior) FIX Engineer Specialist

J. Safra Sarasin seeks a Senior FIX Engineer Specialist in Zürich to enhance group-wide trading systems. The role focuses on FIX interface customization, workflow definition, and technical implementation within a stable, family-owned banking environment.

This position supports the team responsible for developing enhancements and new solutions for the group’s execution trading system and its surrounding infrastructure. The specialist will handle customization and workflow definition tasks, primarily for FIX interfaces, while also managing related project work to ensure seamless integration and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Customize FIX interfaces to meet specific business needs.
• Define IT processes and workflows within order routing and trading systems, including FIS Cross-Asset Trading, Risk Suite - Front Arena AMS, and Avaloq.
• Implement, configure, and test new functionalities.
• Provide business-level analysis and support.
• Create technical documentation for systems and processes.

Requirements

• University or FH degree in IT or natural sciences.
• At least 5 years of practical experience with FIX interfaces.
• Industry-specific knowledge and basic understanding of Trading (Eq, FI, Deriv, FX).
• Hands-on experience with FIX Protocol, TLS, encryption, and strong IT affinity, particularly with Windows NOS and TCP/IP.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders and take responsibility.
• Capability to work independently and under pressure.
• Fluency in English.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of FIS Cross-Asset Trading and Risk Suite, Front Arena AMS, Avaloq, and/or Python.
• Fluency in German.
