Speechify seeks a Senior Software Engineer in Geneva to build foundational services and SDKs. The role focuses on designing reliable APIs and efficient systems within a remote, high-growth environment.
This position belongs to the Core Experiences Team, which is responsible for creating and maintaining the foundational services and software development kits that drive the product experience across all platforms. The role operates at the intersection of product development and infrastructure, with a primary focus on designing clear, reliable APIs and simple, efficient systems.
Responsibilities
- Partner with product teams to define project scopes, streamline deliverables for quicker feedback, and manage integration and user experience trade-offs while delivering solutions through the cross-platform SDK.
- Enhance existing functionality by creating efficient abstractions and improving algorithms to enable faster loading times and more intelligent parsing.
- Develop and deploy cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and background jobs using Kotlin.

- Possess a systems thinking approach with an end-to-end design mindset and a strong commitment to simplicity.
- Demonstrate the ability to rapidly generate ideas and make swift decisions regarding what features can be launched immediately versus those requiring further development.
- Maintain focus and the capacity to work independently or collaboratively within a fast-paced, busy, and remote team setting.
- Exhibit strong collaboration skills to effectively engage, negotiate, and work with designers, marketers, and product managers.
