The company seeks a Senior Test Engineer in Rotkreuz to lead fluid mechanics testing for next-generation blood gas analyzers. This is a one-year fixed-term role with strong extension potential.
This position focuses on the fundamental fluid mechanics behind critical components for next-generation Blood Gas & Electrolytes (BG/E) Analyzers. The engineer will drive quality assurance through rigorous tightness, endurance, and stress testing of fluidic parts and consumables. The assignment is initially for one year, with a high likelihood of extension.
Responsibilities
- Conduct strict pressure, stress, tightness, and endurance tests on valves, connectors, and fluidic consumables.
- Build and refine custom test fixtures using SolidWorks, incorporating pumps, sensors, and valves.
- Create and run accelerated durability protocols to mimic long-term usage scenarios.
- Manage Verification and Validation (V&V) documentation in line with FDA and MDR medical device regulations.
- Automate test rig controls via Python scripts, analyze fluidic data, and perform root cause analysis to support Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/DFA) improvements.
Requirements
- University degree (BSc, MSc, PhD, or HF) in Mechanical, Process, Biomedical Engineering, or Mechatronics.
- At least five years of testing experience, specifically in fluid mechanics, fluidic systems, or microfluidic consumables within the medical device or IVD sector (FDA/MDR context).
- Advanced practical skills in SolidWorks for designing fluidic test fixtures.
- Hands-on experience with ALM tools like Codebeamer and Jira, plus Python scripting for data acquisition.
- Professional-level command of English.
