The company seeks a senior engineer to evaluate and test electro-mechanical components within the measurement chambers of advanced Blood Gas & Electrolytes analyzers. This position ensures that medical diagnostic devices adhere to rigorous standards for accuracy, safety, and reliability while serving as a key technical resource for a first-tier supplier to Roche Diagnostics.
Responsibilities
- Assess electrical parameters such as current, voltage, and clamping forces within the measurement chamber assembly.
- Set up and operate specialized laboratory equipment, including oscilloscopes, encoders, and custom sensors.
- Serve as the main technical contact for resolving unit defects found in operations or BSL-2 laboratory settings.
- Develop, prepare, and run automated verification and validation test suites to ensure compliance with FDA and MDR regulations.
- Create Python scripts for test rig automation, perform statistical analysis, and conduct root cause investigations using methods like 5 Whys and Fishbone diagrams.
Requirements
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (BSc, MSc, PhD, or HF).
- At least five years of practical experience testing electro-mechanical hardware or verifying units in regulated medical device or IVD environments (FDA/MDR).
- Strong practical skills with lab instruments like oscilloscopes and encoders, along with experience using custom test fixtures and SolidWorks.
- Proficiency in ALM tools such as Codebeamer and Jira, plus the ability to write Python scripts for test rigs.
- Professional-level English communication skills.
- Fluency in German or the ability to operate daily in German to facilitate cross-team collaboration.
