The company seeks a Senior Test Engineer for a one-year fixed-term role in Rotkreuz. The position focuses on verifying hardware units for Blood Gas & Electrolytes Analyzers within a regulated medical device environment.
This temporary position, with a strong likelihood of extension, is central to ensuring the quality and reliability of hardware components before they are integrated into the final system. The engineer will play a key part in developing the next generation of Blood Gas & Electrolytes Analyzers, bridging the gap between hardware specifications and system-level performance.
Responsibilities
- Create and run automated test suites and protocols for Verification and Validation, adhering to FDA and MDR standards.
- Manage Unit Specifications and oversee Configuration & Item Management, including tracking change items and revision statuses.
- Act as the primary technical liaison during integration, handling hardware-software dependencies and cross-team interfaces.
- Perform Accelerated Life Testing and durability assessments to confirm long-term product reliability.
- Construct custom test rigs using SolidWorks and write Python scripts to control equipment and collect data.
- Investigate defects using root cause analysis methods like 5 Whys and Fishbone diagrams, offering design feedback for manufacturability and assembly.
Requirements
- A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Biomedical Engineering.
- At least five years of experience in hardware testing, mechatronic verification, or product development.
- Demonstrated experience working in regulated medical device or In Vitro Diagnostics sectors (FDA/MDR).
- Proficiency with ALM tools such as Codebeamer for requirement traceability and Jira for Agile workflows.
- Hands-on skills in building test fixtures with SolidWorks, scripting automation in Python, and performing statistical data analysis.
- Professional-level English communication skills.
