System Integration & Testing Project Lead

Roche seeks a Senior System Integration & Testing Project Lead in Rotkreuz to oversee the integration and validation of automation solutions within its Core Lab Development division.

This position sits within the Solution Automation Integration & Test (SAIT) Subchapter of Roche Diagnostics Solution’s Core Lab Development team. The primary objective is to guarantee the reliable integration and thorough testing of end-to-end automation systems, including pre- and post-analytical workflows, transport mechanisms, and their associated connectivity.

Responsibilities

  • Lead matrix teams and provide technical coaching while planning, coordinating, and documenting preliminary and final acceptance test campaigns.
  • Establish cross-functional hardware and software product functions, ensuring strict adherence to verification standards and delivering all required V&V documentation.
  • Utilize Agile frameworks such as SAFe and Scrum to manage the Team or Product Backlog, prioritizing tasks and defining acceptance criteria alongside stakeholders.
  • Evaluate requirements for testability, conduct system design verification, and assess product risks to maintain alignment with the overall solution architecture.
  • Track progress across test campaigns, handling deviations and ensuring complete traceability from system requirements through design to validation records.
  • Oversee the planning and commissioning of test equipment and environments, while monitoring budgets for all design verification activities.
  • Act as a liaison between technical engineering groups and non-technical partners, including external OEMs, to facilitate smooth system integration.

Requirements

  • A university degree in Engineering or Natural Sciences.
  • At least five years of experience in medical device development, with a strong preference for In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) and a solid background in hardware-centric integration.
  • Proven capability to define complex engineering work packages, manage formal design verification processes, and maintain compliance in highly regulated settings.
  • Exceptional proficiency in English communication.

Nice to have

  • Prior experience in medical device development specifically within the In Vitro Diagnostics sector.
  • Understanding of communication styles associated with Asian cultures.
