Senior Backend Software Engineer role at Restream.io, based in Tallinn or Lisbon, CH, focusing on developing and maintaining web services for the AI Clips team. Hybrid work model with a startup environment and equity opportunities.
This role focuses on building and maintaining features within Restream’s web services, supporting the AI Clips team by developing robust backend systems and ensuring the reliability of production infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain features for Restream’s web services
- Design and implement backend APIs and business logic for new and existing features
- Participate in code reviews by giving and receiving feedback within the team
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and identify potential improvements in the tech environment
- Ensure the production infrastructure is resilient and redundant
Requirements
- Proactive, entrepreneurial mindset focused on delivering high-quality work efficiently
- Expertise in at least one general-purpose programming language
- Strong skills in database design, including relational and NoSQL systems (Scylla, Redis)
- Experience creating, testing, consuming, and supporting APIs for web services
- Familiarity with AWS, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, continuous deployment, and multi-language tech stacks
- Basic front-end development skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Self-motivated, analytical thinker who collaborates effectively in a team
Nice to have
- Experience with Node.JS (TypeScript) or Rust is beneficial but not required
- Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks is an advantage
