Speechify seeks a Mid-level Software Engineer for its Platform team in Geneva, Switzerland. This remote role focuses on backend development using TypeScript/Node.js and cloud infrastructure to support the company's mission of removing reading barriers.
The Platform team at Speechify is responsible for building and maintaining all backend services. This position is designed for a strategic thinker who thrives in fast-paced settings and is passionate about creating user experiences that delight customers while making informed product decisions.
Responsibilities
- Create, build, and sustain reliable APIs, including the public Text-to-Speech interface and internal systems for payments, subscriptions, authentication, and usage tracking.
- Manage the entire backend API ecosystem, ensuring high performance and long-term maintainability.
- Partner with other teams to develop B2B solutions, specifically addressing customization and integration requirements for enterprise customers.
- Align backend architecture with the broader product strategy by collaborating closely with cross-functional groups to enhance user experience.
Requirements
- Demonstrated background in backend development with TypeScript and Node.js.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), along with familiarity with AWS, Azure, or similar cloud environments.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Docker and containerized deployment processes.
- Ability to deploy and manage highly available applications using Kubernetes.
