Benchling seeks a Solution Consultant in Zürich to lead pre-sales efforts for major clients, combining life science expertise with technical solution design.
As a primary solution lead for Benchling’s largest customers and prospects, this pre-sales role partners with sales leadership, account executives, professional services, and product teams. The position involves navigating complex enterprise IT environments, integrating vendor solutions, lab instruments, and legacy applications to drive business growth.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with account executives and leadership to develop account and deal strategies.
- Conduct structured discovery sessions to identify and clarify customer needs and technical requirements.
- Design tailored solutions leveraging Benchling’s capabilities, industry best practices, and the customer’s scientific landscape.
- Deliver persuasive presentations and demonstrations, effectively managing objections and highlighting competitive advantages.
- Provide product management with insights from prospect interactions to help shape the product roadmap.
- Develop reusable solution assets, content, and training materials while mentoring other Solution Consultants.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Chemistry, or a related Life Science discipline.
- At least four years of professional experience, preferably in customer-facing roles.
- Practical background in antibody discovery and engineering, either as a bench scientist or in a technical support role for biologics teams.
- Experience using scientific or informatics software, such as LIMS or ELN systems.
- Fluent proficiency in English.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites approximately 25-30% of the time.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with software tools used for antibody engineering.
- Experience demonstrating scientific software in a pre-sales context.
- Prior background in demonstrating or supporting research instruments, reagents, or software.
- Fluency in German or French.
