Abbott seeks a Tender Specialist in Basel to support global tender strategies, analyze market data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams within its Established Pharmaceutical Division.
This position sits within Abbott’s Established Pharmaceutical Division and reports directly to the Global Tender Management Head. The role offers significant exposure to international markets, senior leadership, and strategic business initiatives, requiring close collaboration with various global teams to drive tender success.
Responsibilities
- Analyze customer and market data to guide tender strategies
- Monitor market trends and pricing shifts to spot opportunities and risks
- Execute tender strategies in partnership with the Global Tender Management Head
- Track key performance indicators and generate insights for stakeholders
- Work with regional markets on priority tenders to improve win rates
- Ensure consistent application of the global tender process across teams
- Promote the effective use of tender management systems
- Drive continuous improvements to boost efficiency and results
- Maintain visibility of tender opportunities 9–12 months in advance
- Prepare cross-functional plans for major tenders
- Collaborate with finance, supply chain, pricing, marketing, and local teams
- Facilitate communication across regions and functions
- Coordinate Tender Review Panels as needed
- Develop tools, training materials, and best practices
- Strengthen capabilities within local teams
- Create value propositions tailored to specific customer needs
- Ensure compliance with Abbott policies, regulations, and ethical standards
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience in project management, commercial roles, or healthcare/pharma environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to turn data into insights and actionable recommendations
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence across teams
- Clear communication and stakeholder management skills
