AI Platform System Engineer

Bank J Safra Sarasin seeks a Mid-level AI Platform System Engineer in Basel to design and maintain scalable GPU infrastructure for AI initiatives.

The company is looking for an experienced engineer to join its platform team, providing technical infrastructure services for enterprise AI projects. This position requires close collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure robust system performance.

Responsibilities

• Architect and improve scalable AI infrastructure services tailored for GPU workloads
• Deploy and manage enterprise AI platforms, such as Kubernetes and OpenShift, for model inference
• Operate high-performance computing clusters, including bare-metal and virtual GPU servers
• Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure incidents across hardware and software layers
• Assist data science teams with infrastructure provisioning
• Execute critical infrastructure tasks and participate in on-call rotations

Requirements

• University degree in Computer Science
• 5 years of IT system administration experience
• 3+ years specializing in Linux (RHEL preferred)
• Strong scripting skills in Shell, Python, and Ansible
• Deep expertise in GPU topologies and architectures (NVLink, PCIe switching)
• Deep expertise in container orchestration (Kubernetes, Terraform, ArgoCD)
• Initial hands-on experience in Prometheus, Grafana, and DCGM Exporter is required
• Fluent in English
