Applied AI Engineer

Bug Bounty Switzerland seeks a Senior Applied AI Engineer to architect and build AI-driven security testing solutions. Based in Zurich/Bern, the role focuses on creating production-ready AI systems that enable enterprises to automate security testing, with a hybrid work model and competitive compensation including ESOP.

This role is responsible for designing the intelligence layer of an enterprise security testing platform, transforming security goals into executable plans and findings into actionable insights. The engineer will own core AI capabilities such as memory systems, orchestration logic, and adaptive interfaces, building reliable, production-grade systems that reduce reliance on human security experts.

Responsibilities

• Develop a semantic digital twin that maintains persistent, evolving context for enterprise environments.
• Enhance the orchestration engine to convert high-level security goals into executable test plans and route execution efficiently.
• Create adaptive reporting dashboards that combine technical findings with contextual insights for stakeholders.
• Build AI features that are production-ready, well-tested, maintainable, and suitable for real-world deployment.
• Lead innovation by exploring new LLM capabilities to keep the platform at the forefront of AI-driven security.
• Manage projects from concept to production, including prototyping, validating assumptions, and scaling successful solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and stakeholders to address customer security challenges through technical innovation.
• Design and maintain backend systems, AI pipelines, and integrations that power the platform.
• Balance rapid development with the rigor required for production-grade software.
• Deliver impactful contributions within the first two weeks, then progress to more complex challenges.

Requirements

• Strong experience in large-scale Python software development.
• Experience with C# and .NET Core, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn a new programming language.
• Passion for applying AI to solve real-world, meaningful problems.
• Proven track record of shipping and maintaining AI/ML systems in production, ideally across multiple domains.
• Deep experience building software around LLMs, including prompting, agentic orchestration, fault tolerance, and integration with deterministic code.
• Solid grasp of AI safety and alignment, including responsible AI, bias mitigation, and ethical development practices.
• Experience with cloud AI platforms such as Azure AI Foundry or AWS Bedrock.
• Strong, independent problem-solving skills, able to work with incomplete information and test hypotheses quickly.
• Familiarity with AI developer tools like Copilot or Claude in daily workflows.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, cybersecurity, math, physics, or a related engineering field.

Nice to have

• Background in cybersecurity or related industries.
• Experience in a fast-growing startup environment with comfort in ambiguity.
• Prior work on large-scale or multi-tenant SaaS applications.
• Experience with Durable Execution frameworks such as Durable Functions, Prefect, or Temporal.
• Development of AI-native interfaces using MCP apps, CopilotKit, AG-UI, or similar.
• Familiarity with agent orchestration frameworks like Agent Framework, AutoGen, or Semantic Kernel.
• Experience with secure tool usage and human feedback loops for autonomous agents.
• Broad knowledge of database technologies, including relational and non-relational systems.
• Familiarity with Azure services and deployment practices.
• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and infrastructure best practices.
