Embodied Agent Intern

Flexion Robotics seeks an Intern for Embodied Agent development in Zürich. The role focuses on vision-language models, synthetic data, and deploying agentic systems for humanoid robots.

This internship positions the candidate at the forefront of humanoid robotics by developing agentic systems that enhance how robots perceive and interact with their environment. The work centers on high-level decision-making using vision-language models, creating synthetic data pipelines, and deploying these solutions in both simulation and real-world settings.

Responsibilities

• Develop agentic systems leveraging vision-language models for advanced perception and decision-making.
• Build and maintain pipelines for generating synthetic data.
• Deploy and test systems in both simulated environments and physical real-world scenarios.
• Contribute to the development of foundational software infrastructure.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD program in Computer Science, Robotics, Machine Learning, or a closely related technical discipline.
• Hands-on experience with large language models, vision-language models, agentic architectures, and model deployment or inference.
• Knowledge of synthetic data creation and large-scale automatic annotation techniques.
• Proficiency in Python, with a focus on writing clean, modular code suitable for fast-paced experimentation.
• Strong analytical abilities and a proven track record of solving complex problems.
• Capability to quickly understand and implement cutting-edge methods found in recent academic literature.

Nice to have

• Prior experience working in robotics.
• Familiarity with simulation environments.
• Background in fine-tuning vision-language models.
• Experience using modern inference engines such as vLLM or SGLang.
