Software Engineering Internship

ANYbotics seeks a Software Engineering Intern in Zürich to help migrate its robotics software stack from ROS1 to ROS2, working alongside experienced engineers on real-world components.

The company is looking for an intern to join its core development team, focusing on the transition of its robotics software infrastructure from ROS1 to ROS2. This position provides the opportunity to work directly with field-deployed components while gaining practical insights into robotics software engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

• Help move ROS1 nodes and packages to the ROS2 framework, which involves revising message and service definitions as well as adjusting communication interfaces.
• Participate in the integration and testing of these migrated components, both within simulation environments and on physical robots.
• Engage with the engineering team during code reviews and assist in debugging processes.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or robotics.
• Demonstrated strong programming abilities in C++ and/or Python.
• Solid understanding and proficiency with ROS2 and/or ROS1.
• Familiarity with development tools such as CMake, Git, and Docker.
• Ability to work independently and in a structured manner, coupled with a strong desire to learn.
• Must be officially registered as a university student.

Nice to have

• Prior experience navigating and contributing to large code bases.
• Background in using robotic simulators or working with robotic hardware.
