The Export Business Manager Asia drives market growth and profitable sales across East Asia, Southeast Asia, and Oceania by managing distributor networks and securing strategic partnerships with pharmaceutical companies and certified laboratories.

This position focuses on expanding the company's commercial footprint throughout the Asian region. The role involves cultivating robust relationships with local distributors and international partners to secure major deals and establish new business models. A key objective is to build a network of certified laboratories in collaboration with distribution partners.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, renew, and broaden strategic commercial partnerships.
  • Develop and maintain a robust distributor network, handling contract negotiations and renewals in compliance with corporate legal standards.
  • Lead partnership negotiations with pharmaceutical companies to secure local and international commercial agreements.
  • Expand partnership activities to enhance value for patients and end-users.
  • Oversee contract implementation, coordinating administrative and logistical processes with internal support teams.
  • Assist distributors in navigating market access discussions with local healthcare authorities.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, strategic partnership, and regulatory teams to align market development with company strategy.
  • Support distributors during visits to large opportunities and pharmaceutical partner cooperations.
  • Travel to visit distributors and commercial partners to understand local market conditions and strengthen relationships.
  • Enhance distributor capabilities in sales and marketing, including solution selling and product positioning.
  • Coordinate with product specialists to ensure successful new product launches.
  • Optimize distributor pricing structures.
  • Drive sales performance to meet business plan targets and team goals.
  • Monitor sales performance and implement corrective action plans as needed.
  • Track distributor sales performance and take remedial actions when targets are not met.
  • Provide short and long-term sales forecasts, alerting headquarters to significant changes.
  • Develop and execute an annual business plan for the territory and key countries.
  • Maintain accurate customer records in Salesforce.com.
  • Ensure timely revenue recognition by coordinating with distributors, service, and application support teams.
  • Provide competitive intelligence and analyze market trends, sharing insights with headquarters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific field or equivalent experience, or a Master's degree in science/engineering with relevant experience.
  • Proven track record in distribution management within or related industries.
  • At least five years of demonstrated sales achievements.
  • Experience working within the Asian region.
  • Knowledge of the diagnostic market, preferably molecular diagnostics and/or pathology.
  • Strong critical and strategic thinking skills to identify and capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders, including C-suite executives.
  • Ability to engage healthcare professionals in meaningful dialogue to determine their needs.
  • Excellent listening skills.
  • Strong presentation and business writing skills.
  • Ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Strong negotiation skills and comfort with C-suite discussions.
  • Ability to deliver against set objectives in stressful situations.
  • Highly effective organizational and planning skills.
