Field Service Technician, Mechanical, FFG/DRO - BASED IN CANADA (Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa)

The company seeks a Mid-level Field Service Technician for mechanical maintenance and installation of BOBST packaging equipment across Canada. The role requires extensive travel and strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.

This position serves as the primary on-site representative for the BOBST product range, specifically focusing on Corrugated Board, Flexo Folder Gluer, and Rotary Die-Cutting lines. The technician acts as a central node within a global support network, ensuring equipment reliability and customer satisfaction through direct field engagement.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical repairs, installations, and relocations of machinery.
• Deliver customer training sessions on equipment operation and safety.
• Execute preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
• Order and manage necessary parts for installation and repair tasks.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and recommend appropriate service solutions.
• Diagnose faults within the customer environment and propose effective fixes.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience as a Mechanic in the packaging or finishing converting industry, specifically with Flexo folder-gluers.
• Educational background in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or a related technical field.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
• Strong command of the metric system.
• Excellent analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with a high sense of responsibility.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Capacity to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel extensively throughout Canada and the United States.
• Residence within one hour of a major international airport is preferred.
