Fullstack Software Engineer (Zürich, 100%)

Loki Robotics seeks a Mid-level Fullstack Software Engineer in Zürich to build backend systems and customer-facing tools for its robot fleet operations.

This position serves as the primary software engineer responsible for all systems operating outside the physical robots. The role is critical for enabling successful customer deployments and shaping the engineering culture, focusing on the backend infrastructure that manages telemetry, dispatch logic, and operational dashboards for the entire fleet.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain customer-facing applications, including fleet dashboards, mission control interfaces, and quality reporting tools.
• Create internal utilities for engineers and operators, such as session review platforms, telemetry visualization, and cloud-based robot control mechanisms.
• Manage the backend architecture for the robot fleet, handling telemetry data ingestion, command APIs, and integrations with third-party customer systems.
• Enhance cloud infrastructure by improving alerting systems, observability, staging environments, and deployment automation processes.

Requirements

• At least five years of professional experience developing production-grade software.
• Proficiency in a strongly typed language such as Rust, C++, or Go.
• Solid background in API design (gRPC or REST), including versioning strategies and authentication mechanisms.
• Full-stack web development skills using technologies like TypeScript and SvelteKit.
• Experience with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL, covering schema design, backups, migrations, and access control.
• Strong Linux proficiency, including bash scripting, containerization, systemd, and networking.
• Proven ability to deploy and operate software in production, utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), monitoring, debugging, and managing uptime and SLAs.

Nice to have

• Production experience with Rust, particularly using Axum, tokio, and sqlx.
• Familiarity with data pipelines and time-series databases.
• Knowledge of authentication and authorization systems like OAuth2/OIDC, mTLS, or PKI.
• Experience managing fleets of connected devices, such as IoT, automotive, robotics, drones, or edge computing systems.
• Background in observability and monitoring infrastructure, including tools like Grafana, OTEL, VictoriaMetrics, or vmalert.
