Ground Segment DevOps Engineer (Luxembourg and UK)

ClearSpace seeks a Mid-level Ground Segment DevOps Engineer to manage CI/CD pipelines and container infrastructure for autonomous space operations across multiple locations.

This position supports the Ground Segment Team, which serves as the digital foundation for safe and autonomous space missions. The engineer will design, build, and maintain the infrastructure required to transition mission-critical services from development through to live operations in orbit.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the CI/CD toolchain and container infrastructure to guarantee reliable, scalable deployments.
• Enhance and sustain automated workflows for building, testing, and releasing software.
• Administer container environments using Docker, Portainer, Harbor, and orchestration platforms.
• Establish deployment protocols, including version control, rollback plans, and readiness checks.
• Drive operational maintenance to keep software continuously available and running smoothly.
• Implement Mission Support System (MSS) tools for automated logging, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Partner with development and operations groups to ensure seamless integration of critical services.

Requirements

• Demonstrated expertise with Docker environments, registry management like Harbor, and container lifecycle tasks.
• Practical background in DevOps pipelines such as GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
• Solid grasp of Linux systems, shell scripting, and automation techniques.
• Understanding of networking basics for distributed systems, including DNS and NFS.
• Rigorous approach to documentation and configuration management.

Nice to have

• Experience designing schemas or configuring SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Background in SQL database administration or performance tuning.
• Familiarity with mission operations, satellite ground systems, or aerospace software.
• Exposure to infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or monitoring stacks such as Grafana.
