International Tax Advisor Investment Funds

Coni & Partner AG seeks a Senior International Tax Advisor for Investment Funds in Geneva. The role focuses on tax structuring, regulatory compliance, and product development within an asset management context.

This position sits within the fund product development team of an international Swiss bank's asset management division. The advisor supports the creation and management of investment products by ensuring tax efficiency, regulatory adherence, and operational feasibility.

Responsibilities

• Oversee product projects from legal, regulatory, operational, and project management angles.
• Provide tax guidance to specialists and managers during the product development phase.
• Advise on tax efficiency strategies for financial transactions and investment portfolios.
• Handle client investment requirements, including negotiating terms with legal counsel, drafting side letters, and preparing memorandums.
• Perform continuous analysis of financial transaction taxes for existing holdings and monitor tax structuring.
• Prepare documentation for fund structures and ensure compliance during investment onboarding.
• Coordinate tax-related projects and procedures with external tax firms and global authorities.
• Create a service catalog and establish clear interfaces with operational teams.
• Research legal and regulatory implications for specific clients, products, and jurisdictions.
• Deliver training sessions on tax issues and best practices for transaction-based taxation.
• Hire and manage external legal advisors and other service providers.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Taxation or Law.
• Professional experience as a tax expert or lawyer at a Big Four firm, top international law firm, or asset manager dealing with fund investments.
• Understanding of investment fund and transaction regulations, such as UCITS, UCITSD, AIFMD, and MiFID.
• Familiarity with US fund regulations.
• Knowledge of private equity, private real estate, private debt, and private infrastructure funds, including their tax structuring.
• Awareness of global fund jurisdictions, including Luxembourg, Delaware, and the Cayman Islands.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Fluency in English and German.

• MBA or LL.M. degree.
