The Junior HR Business Partner role at Groupe la prairie in Zürich supports the HR Director with operational tasks and serves as the primary HR contact for VP-2 managers, ensuring policy alignment and fostering strong employee relationships.
This position assists the HR Director by managing daily operational HR duties and acting as the dedicated liaison for VP-2 level managers. The role focuses on bridging the gap between leadership and staff, ensuring that HR policies effectively meet team requirements while maintaining a supportive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage routine HR operations for the HR Director, including data handling, documentation, and coordination with the Global HR team.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees within the assigned scope.
- Assist in preparing core HR processes such as calibration, development reviews, compensation, and budgeting.
- Help implement global HR projects, policies, and training within designated departments.
- Collaborate with Payroll to provide accurate and timely data on absences, bonuses, leaves, and allowances.
- Develop trusted relationships with managers and employees.
- Provide guidance on HR policies and coaching to VP-2 level managers.
- Partner with managers during recruitment, including defining profiles, briefing, and interviewing.
- Offer first-level advice on performance management, escalating complex cases to the HR Director.
- Coach managers on handling employee relations issues like absences, conflicts, or conduct matters.
- Manage initial complaints and grievance procedures, documenting cases and escalating as needed.
- Contribute to a positive employee experience by working closely with staff and managers.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in an HR-related role after completing a university degree.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong interest in AI tools with demonstrated application in daily work activities.
- Solid understanding of HR generalist processes.
- Basic knowledge of Swiss labour law, with willingness to further develop expertise.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Proactive, solution-oriented, and dependable.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a hands-on, “can-do” attitude; comfortable navigating ambiguity and change.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to build trust at all organizational levels.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with attention to detail (“zoom in and out”)
- Courage to challenge the status quo and confidently voice ideas and improvements.
- Fluent in German and English (written and spoken).
