This internship offers a master’s thesis opportunity centered on the theoretical and empirical development of quantum optimization techniques. The primary objective is to identify and demonstrate quantum advantages for optimization challenges that hold real-world relevance.
Responsibilities
- Design and analyze quantum optimization algorithms through both theoretical study and empirical testing.
- Execute algorithm tests using IBM Quantum hardware systems.
- Investigate how quantum computing can be integrated with artificial intelligence and high-performance classical computing.
- Contribute to the strategic path toward achieving quantum advantage for practical applications.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in physics, computer science, mathematics, or a closely related technical discipline.
- Demonstrate strong programming proficiency in languages such as Python, C/C++, or Rust.
- Possess excellent communication abilities in English.
- Be a self-motivated team player capable of working both collaboratively and independently.
Nice to have
- Prior experience with quantum programming frameworks like Qiskit.
- Academic or professional background in quantum information theory, quantum algorithms, combinatorial optimization, machine learning, AI, or computational physics.
