Product Designer

SonarSource in Geneva seeks a mid-level Product Designer to join its team, focusing on enhancing user experience for its AI-powered code quality and security platform. The role involves designing intuitive workflows, integrating AI into the design process, and collaborating with product and engineering teams.

The Product Designer role supports SonarSource’s mission to lead in AI-driven code review and verification. As part of the Product Design team, the candidate will shape the user experience for Sonar’s platform, ensuring developers and AI agents can produce better code with seamless interaction.

Responsibilities

• Lead product design for a squad, championing a top-tier user experience.
• Conduct research to map complex user workflows, ensuring intuitive and functional solutions.
• Apply AI tools throughout the design process to speed up research, automate routine tasks, and create detailed prototypes.
• Engage with users and customers to grasp their needs and deepen understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with other product designers to maintain consistent information architecture and unified experience across the platform.
• Coordinate with product managers to define problems and deliver design solutions across the full development cycle.
• Partner with engineering teams early to assess technical feasibility and identify edge cases.
• Support the growth of the Product Design team by contributing to design processes, tools, and collaboration frameworks.

Requirements

• Proven ability to structure data-heavy environments and design user journeys that reduce friction.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools to enhance research, ideation, and design speed.
• Self-motivated approach to identifying UX issues and proposing improvements independently.
• Clear communication of design rationale to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Comfort in cross-functional settings where feedback is open and success is team-driven.
• Results-oriented mindset: responsibilities continue beyond design handoff.
