Purchasing Coordinator

AMAC Aerospace seeks a Purchasing Coordinator in Basel to manage procurement within AMOS, source aviation parts, and support dynamic hangar operations.

This position focuses on the end-to-end management of purchase requests and order types using the AMOS system. The coordinator plays a key role in sourcing aircraft components, consumables, and repair services, while directly supporting fast-paced hangar activities with tangible operational impact.

Responsibilities

• Generate, handle, and oversee purchase requests and various order categories inside the AMOS platform.
• Source aircraft components, consumables, tooling, and repair or overhaul services.
• Obtain and assess supplier quotes, verifying adherence to approved vendor lists, delivery schedules, and certification requirements.
• Monitor shipment progress, follow up on order statuses, and assist in managing AOG and urgent orders.
• Maintain accurate purchasing and supply data in AMOS, including pricing, lead times, shipping methods, INCOTERMs, and supplier details.
• Verify and upload necessary compliance documents, such as EASA Form 1, FAA 8130-3, and Certificates of Conformity.
• Collaborate with Maintenance Planning, Engineering, Stores, Quality, Sales, and Logistics to ensure smooth workflows.
• Track supplier performance and contribute to initiatives aimed at improving procurement processes.

Requirements

• Vocational training or a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Aviation Management, or a related discipline.
• Prior experience in purchasing or supply chain management.
• High attention to detail, especially when managing technical and compliance documentation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Proficiency in MS Office tools, particularly Excel.
• Proactive problem-solving abilities and capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, time-critical environment.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects, even during high-pressure periods.

Nice to have

• Experience in aviation logistics or MRO.
• Hands-on experience with AMOS ERP (user-level).
• Training experience with AMOS ERP.
• Basic understanding of aircraft parts, ATA chapters, and MRO processes.
• Confident use of English, French and German.
