Quality Assurance Engineer

Crypto Finance in Zürich seeks a mid-level Quality Assurance Engineer for an onsite, full-time role. The position involves testing custom-built financial tools in an agile environment, with a focus on automated and manual testing, release management, and product quality assurance.

This role is part of the QA team, tasked with testing, supporting, and coordinating the execution of custom-built order management, infrastructure, and risk tools within an agile development environment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in both automated and manual testing, and contribute to the creation of specifications and engineering requirements.
• Oversee the release process by running manual tests, reviewing test results, analyzing performance data, examining logs for issues, and evaluating the quality of release candidates.
• Handle product reviews, report defects to the development team, and share both quantitative and qualitative insights from testing.
• Track the resolution of product issues and monitor progress toward fixes.
• Ensure the final product meets defined requirements and aligns with end-user expectations.
• Identify opportunities to improve product efficiency and testing effectiveness.

Requirements

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, attention to detail, patience, and solid documentation skills.
• A completed technical degree.
• Experience in creating test plans and writing test cases.
• Experience using a test management tool such as TestRail or Zephyr.
• Experience in Agile development environments.
• Familiarity with UI automation tools including Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Awareness of current industry trends, testing frameworks, and trade-offs in automation solutions.
• At least two years of experience in a programming language, preferably Python.
• A product-focused mindset with initiative to enhance test coverage and effectiveness.
• Experience with collaboration tools like Jira and Confluence.

Nice to have

• Relevant training or certification, such as ISTQB.
