Axpo Tegra AG seeks a Senior AI Solutions & Enablement Engineer in Baden to integrate agentic AI into business processes, focusing on scalable solutions and team enablement.

As part of the Agentic AI Program within Axpo Trading and Sales, this position bridges the gap between technical AI capabilities and practical business needs. The engineer collaborates directly with stakeholders to transform concepts into reliable, scalable systems while establishing a consistent foundation for AI adoption across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business units to identify, prioritize, and define AI use cases that offer clear value and feasibility.
  • Provide hands-on coaching to teams, guiding them from initial ideas to functional solutions and integrating AI into daily workflows.
  • Advise on architectural blueprints and implementation strategies to ensure component reuse and prevent redundant efforts.
  • Co-develop agent-based applications embedded in real-world processes, prioritizing reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Create and contribute to reusable patterns, components, and infrastructure to support long-term AI integration.
  • Ensure all solutions adhere to internal guidelines regarding security, data handling, and controlled automation.
  • Monitor emerging AI trends and translate relevant developments into practical opportunities for the business.

Requirements

  • A university degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Business Informatics, or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Deep understanding of modern AI systems, including LLMs, agents, context handling, and their limitations, with real-world application experience.
  • Familiarity with key patterns like retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), tool/function calling, agent orchestration, and standards such as Model Context Protocol (MCP).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex AI concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of risk vectors associated with agentic systems, including prompt injection, data exposure, and supply chain attacks.
  • Solid grasp of software engineering principles and the full development lifecycle.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, Git, and cloud platforms (preferably Azure), with familiarity in Databricks.
  • Understanding of DevOps practices, containerization (e.g., Docker), Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform), networking, and IAM concepts.
  • At least two years of professional experience working with AI technologies.
  • Fluent proficiency in English.

Nice to have

  • Experience with front-end technologies, such as JavaScript or TypeScript and modern frameworks.
  • Additional language skills relevant to the assigned entity.
