Biogen (Switzerland) seeks a Senior Electrician Technician II in Solothurn to maintain electrical systems, coordinate projects, and support manufacturing operations at the Luterbach facility.
This position serves as a key member of the Facility Maintenance team at the Luterbach manufacturing site. The role focuses on preserving the reliability of medium and low voltage distributions, emergency generators, and fire detection systems. The technician provides daily support to maintenance operations and leads electrical project coordination.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and monitor all electrical infrastructure supporting manufacturing activities.
- Record and analyze system readings using Building Management Systems and DeltaV controls.
- Handle critical alarms and participate in on-call rotations for electrical emergencies.
- Perform safety and compliance audits in electrical areas.
- Diagnose equipment failures and deliver expert repair solutions.
- Execute modifications to enhance operational performance and regulatory compliance.
- Track metrics for electrical equipment within Reliability and Energy initiatives.
- Work with Planning & Scheduling teams on maintenance strategies and assessments.
- Keep technical documentation and procedures current and accurate.
- Join cross-site meetings for maintenance benchmarking and improvement.
- Deliver electrical training to operators and fellow technicians.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of experience in industrial facility settings.
- Completion of Elektroinstallateur EFZ or equivalent vocational training.
- Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols and installation standards.
- Fluency in both English and German.
- Practical familiarity with GMP regulations.
- Capability to troubleshoot and operate systems ranging from 24VDC to 16KVAC.
- Willingness to work extended shifts and weekends when necessary.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with software tools like Festo, ABB, Testo, Fluke, and Rockwell.
- Background in programming and commissioning frequency drives.
- Skill in monitoring and troubleshooting medium/low voltage power distribution control systems.
