Senior Project Manager, Tech Ops

CSL Behring Vifor seeks a Senior Project Manager to oversee operational execution, continuous improvement initiatives, and cross-functional coordination within Process Science and Technical Operations.

This position acts as the operational backbone for the department, ensuring that daily activities and project deliveries align with strategic product roadmaps. By managing business-as-usual oversight and facilitating coordination, the role allows the Process Science and Technical Operations Lead to concentrate on scientific leadership, strategic decision-making, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives and manage overall departmental workload distribution.
• Resolve cross-functional technical challenges that affect commercial product supply.
• Monitor CI project timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation while proactively identifying potential execution risks.
• Align CI project priorities with broader organizational goals.
• Help CI teams stay focused on commitments and meet deadlines.
• Escalate critical issues that require higher-level management intervention.
• Foster collaboration between the IPT and partner functions such as Manufacturing Operations, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs CMC, and Supply Chain.
• Communicate project status, priorities, and risks through established systems and tools.
• Advise the Process Science Lead on operational matters.
• Track budgets and monitor expenditures.
• Coordinate departmental communications and organizational updates.
• Ensure accountability and follow-up on key departmental commitments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• More than five years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or development.
• Solid understanding of project management principles.
• Experience collaborating with external manufacturing organizations (CMOs/CDMOs).
• Proven track record of managing technical projects and cross-functional teams.
• Strong organizational skills to handle multiple interconnected topics and ensure alignment across stakeholders.
• Self-driven and proactive, with the ability to take ownership in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Nice to have

• Experience in operational management, project management, or business operations roles.
• Operational leadership skills focused on execution excellence, prioritization, and clear accountability.
• Solid understanding of Pharmaceutical quality systems and GMP environment.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities combined with expertise in Operational Excellence methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and navigate complex matrix organizations.
• Experience working in an international, multicultural environment.
• German language skills (considered an advantage).
