Responsibilities
- Create, validate, and manage production-level AI functionalities utilized by various teams across Amazon's infrastructure.
- Provide complete solutions that prioritize long-term maintainability, high performance, and system reliability.
- Partner with Product and Science teams to shape user experiences, conduct tests, and refine features based on data insights.
- Develop AI-driven tools such as personalized recommendations and knowledge-based features using generative AI and LLMs.
- Establish measurement frameworks, including analytics events and experiment setups, to monitor user engagement and retention.
- Make effective technical choices in complex scenarios where standard patterns may not apply.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a closely related discipline.
- At least five years of professional software development experience, excluding internships.
- Proficiency in modern programming languages like Java, C++, or C#, with a strong grasp of object-oriented design principles.
- Hands-on experience throughout the full software development lifecycle, covering coding standards, peer reviews, version control, build automation, testing, and operational tasks.
- Proven ability to contribute to the architectural design of new and existing systems, focusing on scalability, reliability, and design patterns.
Nice to have
- Background in creating server-side rendered web applications and performance-focused UI rendering techniques.
- Experience with A/B testing, analytics instrumentation, and using metrics to drive iterative improvements.
- Familiarity with integrating AI/ML models and applying generative AI solutions.
- Ownership of the end-to-end SDLC, including operational duties, on-call rotations, monitoring, and incident response or root cause analysis.
- Experience in mentoring fellow engineers and promoting engineering best practices.
