ARTIDIS seeks a Mid-level Test and Verification Engineer in Basel to ensure the reliability and regulatory compliance of its novel cancer diagnosis medical device software.
This position supports the Medical Device Software Team by guaranteeing that ARTIDIS’s atomic force microscopy device functions correctly and meets all necessary standards for clinical use. The engineer plays a key role in validating software performance from the concept phase through to final verification, ensuring safe and effective tools for medical professionals.
Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate software testing protocols aligned with requirements, change logs, and anomaly reports.
- Execute verification, regression, and system tests while maintaining clear, auditable documentation of outcomes.
- Define test strategies and introduce new software testing methodologies.
- Build and validate automated testing scripts to improve efficiency.
- Integrate AI-driven review and testing tools into development and documentation workflows.
- Manage change records and traceability matrices linking test results to specific software requirements.
- Partner with regulatory specialists to confirm that software updates comply with FDA guidelines and other industry standards.
- Produce technical reports, release notes, and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with the development team to support projects from initial concept to completed verification.
- Share feedback with developers regarding software performance and user experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or an equivalent technical qualification.
- At least three years of experience in medical device development or another highly regulated sector.
- Proficiency in writing Python scripts and leveraging Large Language Models for code generation, automated reviews, and documentation.
- Strong capabilities in software troubleshooting, analysis, and debugging.
- Fluent command of English, both written and spoken.
Nice to have
- Background working with complex hardware such as robotic systems, computer vision products, or embedded devices.
- Experience with C/C++, AWS, CI/CD pipelines, IoT device management, or DevOps practices.
