Testing Engineer

Loki Robotics seeks a Testing Engineer in Zürich to lead testing processes for hardware and software systems, managing operators and improving R&D feedback loops.

As the first dedicated Testing Engineer at Loki Robotics, this role sits at the intersection of hardware, software, and operations. The position is central to the success of customer deployments and the broader engineering culture, requiring the individual to define processes that uncover edge-case issues and manage release testing.

Responsibilities

• Establish testing procedures designed to reveal edge-case issues.
• Create testing rigs and mock-up environments to expand testing capacity and coverage.
• Lead a team of robot operators responsible for executing planned test jobs.
• Develop systems that enhance feedback loops between testing and R&D teams.
• Contribute to engineering solutions for problems identified across hardware and software.
• Plan and oversee release testing, including the management of hardware and software releases.

Requirements

• At least three years of professional experience building robotics systems involving both hardware and software.
• Strong proficiency in Linux, including bash, containers, systemd, and networking.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to interface with the engineering team and manage robot operators.
• Strong organizational abilities to navigate complex environments and manage competing priorities.
• High agency, with the ability to drive results and accelerate processes independently.

Nice to have

• Experience debugging common electrical systems, such as CAN bus and power distribution.
• Familiarity with ROS2.
• Background in hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.
• Experience with NVIDIA Jetson platforms.
• Skills in CAD modeling, particularly using Onshape.
