Backend Developer (VoIP)

Alohi, based in Geneva, seeks a mid-level Backend Developer (VoIP) to build and maintain critical backend systems for its global communication services. The role requires experience with open-source telephony tools, Python, Linux, and scalable data solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend systems that handle high volumes of requests.
• Optimize system performance in a scalable environment.
• Design and implement web services and backend modules for online faxing solutions.
• Complete development tasks on schedule and ensure thorough testing with minimal bugs.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of experience in software engineering.
• Proven experience with open-source telephony platforms such as Freeswitch and Asterisk, including digital faxing implementation.
• Solid knowledge of Linux systems and operations.
• Proficiency in Python programming.
• Experience working with complex data storage systems including MongoDB, MariaDB, and Elasticsearch.
• Understanding of HTTP, REST, web servers, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with build systems and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to write and maintain scalable, efficient code.
