Johnson Electric seeks a Senior Chief Accountant in Switzerland to manage statutory reporting, IFRS/HKFRS compliance, and financial operations within an international team.
This position serves as a key financial leader within a dynamic global organization, responsible for overseeing the integrity of financial reporting and statutory compliance for Swiss entities. The role operates within an international team, requiring the management of complex projects and continuous improvement of accounting processes in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee monthly and bi-yearly closing procedures for Swiss entities, including the preparation and review of financial statements and updates to the internal control system matrix.
- Ensure high-quality output from the Finance Shared Service Center, covering accounts payable, receivable, treasury, general ledger, expenses, and VAT.
- Manage transfer pricing applications, including documentation, mark-up calculations, and compliance filings.
- Handle tax compliance duties for income tax, deferred tax, and VAT, ensuring all deadlines and regulatory rulings are met.
- Conduct thorough reviews of various reconciliations, such as balance sheet, payroll, deferred tax, VAT, and sub-ledger to general ledger matches.
- Lead or support accounting-related projects, including mergers, acquisitions, asset sales, new loan arrangements, and warehouse setup.
- Liaise with both internal and external auditors to facilitate audit processes.
- Drive initiatives to improve accounting controls, processes, and reporting efficiency.
- Participate in budget forecasting by analyzing monthly cost center reports, explaining variances, defining allocation keys, and communicating with business unit controllers.
- Collaborate closely with international stakeholders and other departments to ensure alignment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Holding a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification.
- Deep knowledge of IFRS and HKFRS standards, including financial reporting and statutory compliance.
- At least six years of experience in similar roles within industrial or international settings, preferably with ERP system exposure.
- Fluency in English is required.

- Proficiency in French or German languages.
