Abbott seeks a Senior Financial Analyst in Zurich to support its Thoratec division, providing financial insights for life-saving heart pump systems like CentriMag and HeartMate 3.
This position sits within Abbott’s global medical device division, specifically at Thoratec Switzerland GmbH. The role focuses on delivering financial guidance for the CentriMag System and HeartMate 3 products, which serve patients with advanced heart failure. By shaping financial insights, the analyst helps drive innovation, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a financial partner for cost centers, capital projects, inventory, and change orders.
- Manage the annual budgeting cycle and conduct periodic forecasting for assigned areas.
- Collaborate with business units to track performance, spot opportunities, and drive improvements.
- Oversee the full capital lifecycle, including planning, tracking, and post-investment review.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate financial impacts by working with the local supply chain.
- Enhance financial processes, tools, reporting accuracy, and data integrity.
- Maintain strict compliance with financial controls, policies, and reporting standards.
- Deliver tasks consistently, accurately, and on time.
- Lead month-end activities, including journal entries, variance analysis, and report preparation.
Requirements
- A degree in Finance or a related field.
- Around five years of professional experience, including at least three years in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A).
- Strong analytical skills and a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to translate complex financial data into clear insights for various stakeholders.
- Proficiency with systems such as SAP, Dodeca/Essbase, Excel, and Power BI.
- Excellent collaboration and communication abilities.
- Capacity to manage priorities and thrive in dynamic, high-pressure environments.
- Fluent proficiency in English.
