Senior Product Manager - Custody & Settlement

Crypto Finance AG seeks a Senior Product Manager to lead the development of its institutional digital asset custody and settlement platform in Zurich.

This position is responsible for the end-to-end product strategy of the core custody and settlement system, which serves as the primary record for holding, settling, and accounting for client assets. The role operates at the critical intersection of product management, digital asset infrastructure, and regulated financial services.

Responsibilities

• Manage the product backlog for the custody and settlement platform, ensuring a balance between system reliability, operational efficiency, and client requirements.
• Collaborate with operations, trading, finance, and institutional clients to identify pain points and translate them into actionable engineering requirements.
• Focus on automating manual back-office workflows to enhance processing speed, minimize risk, and reduce operational costs.
• Architect the platform toward modular, reusable services to accelerate the delivery of new products and client configurations.
• Oversee the integration and onboarding experience for institutional clients, incorporating their feedback and competitive analysis into the product roadmap.
• Partner with engineering teams throughout the entire product lifecycle, including scoping, trade-off analysis, release preparation, and validation.
• Maintain alignment across engineering, trading, operations, commercial, finance, and delivery teams regarding product goals and progress.
• Ensure all product decisions comply with security, compliance, and regulatory standards applicable to regulated securities dealers and custodians.
• Define and monitor key performance indicators such as reliability, efficiency, onboarding duration, and client adoption to guide strategic decisions.

Requirements

• At least five years of product management experience, preferably within financial services or fintech, focusing on platforms, ledgers, settlement, custody, payments, or core banking.
• Demonstrated history of successfully delivering products from initial discovery to launch, with measurable business outcomes.
• Deep understanding of ledger and reconciliation principles, including positions, balances, and transaction flows into financial reporting systems.
• Strong conceptual knowledge of API-based platforms and integrations, such as FIX, REST, and WebSocket, sufficient to discuss technical trade-offs.
• Ability to bridge the gap between engineering and business/operations stakeholders, translating technical constraints and business needs effectively.
• Proficiency with product management tools, with Jira being the preferred platform.
• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks relevant to financial markets, such as DORA.

• Prior experience in digital asset or cryptocurrency infrastructure.
• Knowledge of custody solutions, wallet infrastructure, key management, or post-trade systems.
• Understanding of on-chain settlement mechanics.
• Background in institutional client onboarding, compliance, or integration testing.
• Experience in modularizing large systems of record into reusable services.
• Familiarity with trading systems or order management platforms.
• Experience using Confluence for documentation and knowledge management.
