System Simulation Engineer - Thermodynamic Thermal Systems - E-Systems

Johnson Electric seeks a Senior System Simulation Engineer in Switzerland to lead the development of advanced thermal management systems using simulation, thermodynamics, and AI.

This position sits at the center of creating and refining next-generation thermal management solutions. The engineer will leverage deep knowledge of thermodynamics, simulation techniques, and AI-driven modeling to speed up the innovation process and shape the future of energy-efficient mobility.

Responsibilities

• Perform thermodynamic simulations and virtual testing for various refrigerant systems.
• Utilize advanced simulation tools and AI-powered engineering platforms to drive design improvements.
• Guide the architecture of sustainable thermal systems, focusing on refrigerants such as R744, R290, and R1234yf.
• Partner with R&D, design, and engineering groups to refine system structures.
• Apply machine learning and AI methods to boost the precision and speed of simulation outcomes.
• Produce technical reports and documentation to aid strategic product roadmap choices.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams within a global, matrixed organizational structure.
• Investigate new technologies and suggest innovative approaches to enhance design and simulation efficiency.
• Engage in high-impact projects that influence mobility and energy efficiency standards.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Thermal Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• At least five years of professional experience in thermodynamics and thermal system design.
• Proven expertise with MATLAB, GT Suites, and 1D simulation software.
• Programming capabilities in Python or R.
• Background in the automotive or HVAC sectors.
• Comprehensive knowledge of sustainable refrigerants and international thermal system regulations.
• Fluency in English plus proficiency in at least one of the following: French, German, or Italian.
